Jim and Joan Walter, owners of THE CALAMITY HOUSE ANTIQUES in Campbellsport, Wisconsin, specialize in refinished and restored antique furniture, including Victorian cherry and walnut; turn-of-the-century golden oak and maple; Eastlake; Mission and Arts & Crafts; and even some primitive pieces in native Wisconsin wood, including pine and butternut. There is always a wide selection of fine furniture to choose from in their booth and in the lower level furniture section of The Shoppes on Mill Street. They also handle some later period items, including an occasional piece of Danish Modern, formal pieces of mahogany, and cedar chests and wicker as well. All items are hand-finished and restored by Jim and ready to set in place for instant use in your home.

Besides furniture, their booth is always well-stocked with accessory items, like glassware from Fenton, Art Glass pieces, fine china such as Nippon and Havilland, and kitchen items including salt and pepper shakers, bowls, Fire-King dishes and depression glassware. Jim and Joan locate pieces for their customers, and can be personally contacted by e-mail. Write to Jim & Joan Walter and they will do their best to find whatever you're looking for!

Jim and Joan have been full-time Antique Dealers for nearly three decades. They are members of the Wisconsin Antique Dealers Association and the Northern Wisconsin Antique Dealers Association, and have served on the boards of both. Joan helps with the Antiques Showcase & Sale held in the Appleton Art Center in the beginning of April. They have a full schedule of shows they sell at every year, including those located in Door County, Eagle River, Waukesha, Cedarburg, Madison, and Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and a few in Illinois and Minnesota. Joan also sells on the Internet, specializing in jewelry, silver, coins, military items and glassware; pottery including Roseville, Weller, McCoy, Haeger, Red Wing, and Muncie; and dolls and doll clothes for Barbie, Ginny, Nancy Ann Storybook, Sasha and others. She has been selling on eBay for over eight years, and her current listings can be found on eBay under her seller's ID, rainbowseeker. She takes occasional select consignments from fellow dealers and friends to sell on eBay, and she is considering expanding this to include others.
